NEW ALBUM COMING - May 14th, 2021

ABOUT THE ALBUM...

"We'll Be Alright" was made with great love in a time of great need. While the official record release is slated for May, I am sharing two tracks at a time between now and then as a thank you to my immediate fans & supporters. So if you're reading this, THANK YOU!!

"We'll Be Alright," is my second full-length studio album, recorded at Same Sky Productions in Austin, TX.  In total, there are nine new songs, plus a bonus acoustic version of "Don't Be Afraid," from my debut release, BRAVE BONES.

This album cost nearly $10,000 to record and manufacture. My goals is for it to be fully-funded by donations and record sales, which is a stretch in this day & age! The vast majority of my budget went straight into the hands of professional musicians and engineers who are in dire need of support right now, which is another reason I felt compelled to take on this album now, in the midst of the pandemic. As the saying goes, "Music heals."

Album donations of any amount are much appreciated!

TRACK 1: Air In Melody

Brandon Wayne DeMaris

I wrote this song for "The Acoustic Guitar Project," a global songwriting initiative where artists write a new song, record, publish and perform it in front of a live audience, all in the span of one week's time!

The lyrics were inspired by a San Francisco street poet who wrote an on-the-spot poem about my wife Melody, our dog Wilco and our dear friend Erin Martinez. "Air In Melody"... it sounds like a pretty good song!

TRACK 2: Slow Down

Brandon Wayne DeMaris

Needless to say, we have all been subject to "the great pause." I wrote this song in January of 2020, which turned out to not only foreshadow, but ultimately underscore the year. TRACK 3: Why Change

Brandon Wayne DeMaris

When I say this album is deeply personal, "Why Change" is first song I think of. It offers a glimpse into the dark, shadowy corners of my mind where I tend to have more questions than answers, where self-doubt and deprecation run rampant, and I tend see myself as some kind of imposter. It offers a glimpse into the dark, shadowy corners of my mind where I tend to have more questions than answers, where self-doubt and deprecation run rampant, and I tend see myself as some kind of imposter. All the while, there is also a still small voice speaking the truth, whether I am willing to hear it or not.

TRACK 4: Wise Man Change

Brandon Wayne DeMaris

James "Poncho" Arnold is my next door neighbor, an 86-year old man who has lived more than 9-lives between his time serving in the Korean War and raising three generations beneath him. The third verse of this song came to me in a flash of sorrow the day I learned Poncho's late wife, Adele had passed. We have so much to learn from those who came

The third verse of this song came to me in a flash of sorrow the day I learned Poncho's late wife, Adele had passed. We have so much to learn from those who came before us, and so much to cherish while they're still here.

TRACK 5: Viva Terlingua

Brandon Wayne DeMaris

As the lyrics say, way out west in the state of Texas, there's a little ghost town perched along the Rio Grande on the outskirts of Big Bend National Park. It was in this town that my long-time friend Dave Madden and I sat on the porch of the Starlight Bar taking in the vibrant and quirky blend of locals and tourists who swarm the place daily. The

It was in this town that my long-time friend Dave Madden and I sat on the porch of the Starlight Bar taking in the vibrant and quirky blend of locals and tourists who swarm the place daily. The song itself is a throwback to Jerry Jeff Walker, whose album "Viva Terlingua" paved the way for so many rogue songwriters to leave the beaten path of mainstream music to find their own sound.
